At 9 o’clock on the morning of November 25, the 30.44-meter-long and 16-ton steel trestle with 2-3 spans sat quietly on the bank of Jinshajiang Bridge, waiting to be hoisted. At 12 o’clock, the steel trestle with 2-3 spans for Jinshajiang Bridge was hoisted and adjusted to the designated position after three-hour hard work by Sichuan Road & Bridge rescue team, marking a major step forward for the operation of Jinshajiang Bridge.

Since the assembly of steel trestles began at 8:00 on November 24, Sichuan Road & Bridge rescue team battled rolling mountains stones and braved the elements with great courage, and management staff and workers worked at least 18 hours a day, their red eyes showing exhaustion and also their passion for the service of the bridge.

In order to ensure the smooth assembly and hoisting of the steel trestles, many bridge engineering experts of the Group rushed to the scene for technical guidance, and discussed the steel trestle assembly and hoisting plan for several nights on end. The plan refinement and safety protection ensure the faultless assembly process and hoisting process.

After the flood discharge disaster caused by the dammed lake on the Jinsha River, the Jinshajiang Bridge connecting Tibet and Batang, Sichuan was seriously damaged and impassable, causing great inconvenience to the work and life of the people on both sides of the river. Today, after only two and half day sin Batang County, Sichuan Road & Bridge rescue team successfully erected the first steel trestle on the Sichuan bank of the Jinshajiang Bridge, with the second steel trestle to be hoisted in place.
