In order to actively respond to China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative, further implement capacity cooperation between Sichuan and Serbia, and strengthen cooperation between the two sides in trade, investment, financing, solidarity and solidarity, on June 18 and 19, 2019, accompanied by Sun Yun, Chairman of Sichuan Railway Investment Group, Wang Ning, Executive Vice Governor of Sichuan Province and a delegation of Sichuan provincial enterprises visited Senegal, the beautiful Horn of West Africa.

On the morning of June 19, Executive Vice Governor Wang Ning led the delegation to visit the Diamniadio Industrial Park in Dakar. He attended the Opening Ceremony of Diamniadio Industrial Park Phase II Project jointly built by Sichuan Road & Bridge Group and CGCOC Group. Together with Moustapha DIOP, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Senegal, he inaugurated the Diamniadio Industrial Park Phase II Project and planted a tree representing friendship between Sichuan and Senegal.

At the noon of the same day, the Matchmaking Symposium on Sichuan-Senegal Capacity Cooperation (Conférence de Coordination de la Coopération en matière de Capacité de la Production entre Sichuan et Sénégal) was held at the Daker International Congress Centre. At the symposium, Sun Yun, Chairman of Sichuan Railway Investment Group, made a speech as the representative of Sichuan provincial enterprises. He said that Sichuan Railway Investment Group will make use of the capacity cooperation between Sichuan and Senegal to deepen the diversified industrial cooperation with Senegal. Meanwhile, he hopes to take this symposium as an opportunity to unite Sichuan provincial enterprises and draw a blueprint for capacity cooperation between Sichuan and Senegal. He also hopes to make the Diamniadio Industrial Park Phase II Project a landmark of “China-Senegal cooperation”, boost the capacity cooperation between Sichuan and Senegal, and contribute the wisdom of Sichuan and the strength of Sichuan Railway Investment Group to the building of China-Africa community with common interests and a shared future.

At the symposium, Wang Chuanfu, Deputy General Manager of Sichuan Road & Bridge Group, and Wang Wei, General Manager of the Senegal Branch of CGCOC Group, signed a MoU for Investment Cooperation on Expressway Project in Senegal with representatives of Highway Administration of Senegal.

Zhang Xun, Chinese ambassador to Senegal, and representatives of Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Foreign Affairs Office of Sichuan Province and enterprises in Sichuan attended the Opening Ceremony and the Matchmaking Symposium on Sichuan-Senegal Capacity Cooperation.

With the strong support of the Sichuan Provincial Government and the positive response of numerous Sichuan provincial enterprises, we have made new breakthrough and new progress in terms of the capacity cooperation between Sichuan and Senegal this year. Sichuan provincial enterprises will seize the new opportunities presented by the “Belt and Road” Initiative, fully implement the spirit of “toward an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future” proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, work closely to promote all-round and multi-level mutually-beneficial cooperation between Sichuan and Senegal, and boost China-Senegal capacity cooperation to achieve greater success.
