On May 30, 2019, the key projects undertaken by Sichuan Road & Bridge at home and abroad reached key nodes, including Chishui River Bridge for Jiangjin-Xishui-Gulin section of Sichuan-Guizhou expressway, Hubei Jiayu Yangtze River Highway Bridge, Wanzhou Pailou Yangtze River Bridge (Wanzhou Third Yangtze River Bridge), Ningbo Sanguantang Bridge in Zhejiang and Beitstadsundbrua Bridge in Norway.
Closure of Chishui River Bridge, the world’s highest tower for the suspension bridge in mountainous area and the second largest span bridge
With a total length of 2,009 meters, Chishui River Bridge has a main span of 1,200 meters and a main cable length of 1,863.95 meters. The total length of its main cable wire is 1.5 times the circumference of the Earth, and its main tower stands 243.5 meters high. After completion, the project offers a new southbound channel leading out of Sichuan, enhancing economic ties between Sichuan and ASEAN, South Asia and Australia and New Zealand, etc. It will spur the pace of Sichuan’s opening-up, drive the poverty alleviation through red tourism sector, and give an impetus to poverty alleviation in the continuous poverty-stricken Wumeng Mountain region.
