March forward in twenty years of hard efforts, build the centennial Road and Bridge as a trailblazer for future generations. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up and the 20th anniversary of Sichuan Road & Bridge Group, the Group company held a series of events on October 9. Feng Maorun, the former chief engineer of the Ministry of Transport, attended the event and gave a keynote speech. The relevant leaders from the provincial departments, Sichuan Railway Investment Group, and associate organizations were invited to participate in the event to share the joys and excitements on the 20th anniversary of the Group company. The company’s leaders, some retired leaders and over 600 cadres and workers gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Group company.

On the morning of the 9th day, the celebration meeting was held at the Group’s Huangjia Training Center. The meeting was chaired by Xiong Guobin, Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group. At the meeting, Feng Maorun delivered a keynote speech entitled “Developing Transportation to Benefit the People”. In over two hours, he made a comparison between China and foreign countries to show the brilliant achievements of China’s transport construction since the reform and opening up, especially the huge achievements in bridge construction, and described the innovation and progress in China’s bridge construction in terms of structure, technology and management. At the same time he also spoke highly of the achievements of Sichuan Road & Bridge Group and its outstanding contribution to China’s transport development. He affirmed the development strategy of the Group company and sent the message of “strengthening main business, building the brand and carrying forward the spirit”, hoping that Sichuan Road & Bridge will contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Sun Yun, Deputy Director of the Provincial Railway and Airport Construction Office, Party Secretary and Chairman of Sichuan Railway Investment Group, Chairman of Sichuan Road & Bridge Group Co., Ltd., and Party Secretary of Sichuan Road & Bridge Group Co., Ltd., made an important speech at the meeting. He reviewed the history of Sichuan Road & Bridge and the brilliant achievements over the past 20 years. At the same time, he pointed out that Sichuan Road & Bridge should be geared to becoming a globally competitive first-class enterprise, actively implement new “three steps”, and strive to be the promoter of the national strategy, infrastructure integrator, demonstrator of multinational operations, leader of technology quality, and the pioneer of reform and innovation. The company shall focus on “one mainstay and dual engines, two axes and diverse dimensions, sea and land synergy”, enhance “capabilities in resource allocation, industrial coordination, and management innovation”, and foster “guarantee in Party building culture, system and mechanisms, and human resources”, so as to ensure that by the middle of this century, the company becomes “a centennial Road & Bridge” with first-class management performance, first-class corporate governance, first-class resource allocation, first-class talents, first-class brand image, and first-class global competitiveness and influence.

On the afternoon of the 9th day, an art performance by the staff was held at the auditorium of the training center. Leaders of the units at higher levels, special guests and over 600 cadres and workers from associate organizations attended the ceremony.

Secretary Sun Yun delivered a speech at the event. He reviewed the history of the great development of Sichuan Road & Bridge, and gave an outlook of great future of the “centennial Road and Bridge”. He encouraged the staff to go all out to support Sichuan Railway Investment Group in its pursuit of the Global 500 ranking, work together to build a world-class enterprise with global competitiveness, and make tireless efforts for the “centennial Road and Bridge”. Wu Xiaoxi, the full-time Deputy Party Secretary of the Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, made a speech at the event. On behalf of the Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, he congratulated the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Group and spoke highly of the achievements of Sichuan Road & Bridge. He hoped that the Group would focus on the long-term vision of building a globally competitive first-class enterprise, promote reinforcement, transformation and upgrading, reform and innovation, and quality and efficiency, and make every endeavor to create a more dynamic, efficient and sustainable industry leader.

With the theme of the “Two decades of glory and new endeavors in a new journey”, the art performance consists of five parts: the preface, original aspiration, hard work, mission, and ending. In the form of video and programs, it showcases Sichuan Road & Bridge’s mission of “developing transport and benefiting society” and the development process of hard efforts. The Group’s associate organizations presented an audio-visual feast to the audience through a cornucopia of exciting programs including dances, songs, a Chinese form of rapping, and stage plays, demonstrating the glorious achievements of Sichuan Road & Bridge and the mien and style of its employees. It is reported that the art performance was also streamed live via the internet, with a total of 380,000 views on the day.

This celebration is a comprehensive display of the achievements of Sichuan Road & Bridge over 20 years, and also ushers in a new chapter for the new journey of Sichuan Road & Bridge.
