On October 23, the Xishui to Gulin Section (totaling 14.88 km) of the Jiangjin-Xishui-Gulin Expressway invested and built by Sichuan Road & Bridge Corporation Bridge Engineering Co., Ltd. passed the acceptance and handover, which was another victory for the first BOT for Sichuan Road & Bridge outside the province after the Jiangjin to Xishui section was completed and put into operation on December 30, 2017.  

Since the start of construction, Sichuan Road & Bridge people, who uphold the development idea of “serving the country through industry, developing transport, and benefiting the people”, and carry forward the corporate spirit of “overcoming difficulties, showing dedication, achieving success”, tackled the hardships and dangers and braved the rugged hills and turbulent waters with great courage, and swore to build expressway for the people and create the trunk road in northern Guizhou. They overcame the difficulties of perennial rainy weather and complicated geological conditions, and solved the thorny problems of karst development, shallow-buried and unsymmetrical pressure tunnel, high pillars in mountain areas, etc. Through more than three years of hard work, the mission of the transport service was completed, which was highly praised by the Guizhou Provincial Department of Transportation, the local government and the owner company. This built a good reputation and corporate image for the group company in the Guizhou market.

The inspection and acceptance of the Xishui to Xijiu section means that except the Chishui River Bridge under construction, the entire Jiangjin-Xishui-Gulin expressway has been completed, and the economic ties among Sichuan, Guizhou and Chongqing are about to be connected. Not only will this make huge contribution to Xishui County’s poverty alleviation efforts, it will also improve the expressway network in the southwest region and fundamentally enhance the transportation capacity of the northeastern Guizhou economic zone to the northern and western regions. At the same time, it will drive the development of the “Golden Triangle of Tourism” and the “Golden Triangle of Liquor” in Sichuan, Guizhou and Chongqing, promote the poverty alleviation of Wumen Mountain contiguous poverty-stricken areas through development, and empower the economic and social development of Guizhou Province and even Southwest China as a whole.
